The next stop was the venison farm, here we got a tasting of Bambi!!!
You would have never known if you weren’t told, usually we eat that lovely thinly sliced spicy meat, covered in yummy cheese, and if you are lucky on crackers.
They wrapped up your purchases in good old fashioned newspaper (no I didn’t buy any)
Then we speed (I am pretty good at speed shopping) shopped through the Margaret River Cheese Factory, I love speed shopping
Imagine a queue of people in single file, taste, taste, taste, buy, buy, buy, pay pay pay
Yep that was us we did this in about 10minutes flat, back on the bus, ho ho ho of we go!!!!
I have now discovered Baked Ricotta cheese to have in salads for a change from Feta, hosts were crap though, ho hum, solider on. There are two Margaret River Cheese factories, this is at the newer premises which are larger.
Next stop the chocolate factory, I still don’t get why you would walk around around stuffing your face with free drops of chocolate and then queue up for more. Not very dignified if you ask me, especially as it was packed as usual to the brim. So many people, get out of my way, I know exactly what I want (chocolate covered nougat) Well it’s not like I haven’t been here before
|Chocolate from the factory and lollies for the road from Cowaramup|
What a money spinner, especially as we may be losing Darryl Lea!!!
Those chocolate nougat you see above, have inside three very large chocolate covered pieces, so I did my calculations, 3 pieces, halved, that’s 6 day’s of treats
We bought in total 28 bottles of wine, I won’t do the same calculation as it would be just plain embarrassing. Surely they would last much longer than that.
1 x Dukah
3 x Cheese
1 x Lemon Butter
3 x packets of lollies
2 x packets of Chocolates
So we were dropped back at our apartments, laden with parcels, Mandy’s horrified face said it all (Tour guide) as we got of the bus, arms laden
That night we had dinner at the Must Bar, great little place, food so so, but the desert was to die for.
One more day to go, yes hard to believe but we aren’t done yet, still more wineries to visit, galleries, and one more three course lunch to have. Buying and tasting still to go, I also can’t believe I ate so much
