We have now been in the house for a year. still so much to do
I am embarrassed to look at this, it looks so much better now that we have started planting, but no lights still
We also still have no exterior lights, the story so far:
Before the home was completed I had found some great coach lights from Sonja lighting for the front of the home, I need four, they were a great price and the right look. After waiting a fair few weeks for them, which by the way they wanted the money up front ( I wanted the lights so didn’t argue ) they arrived
Three of them were crooked, we all agreed they needed to be sent back and more ordered. So after several more weeks ( a couple of months) the next batch arrived ( good old China )
Guess what! They were all bent as well, this time I got my money back, without interest mind you
So now I have ordered four more exterior lights from Brass Decor in Nedlands, I like these ones better.
Guess what! They were left of the shipment ( bloody China ) So they were going to be sent on the next shipment; that was about 4 months ago, I am running out of patience
So Now I am talking to Alti lighting in Claremont; apparently he feels my pain
I expressed my disappointment so far and the frustration of nobody carrying any stock and the lights all coming from ( China, Taiwan )
I had in fact bought two hall lights from him some months prior and noticed he had them in stock again and that I needed two more. They are the wrong colour but we have painted them black. No worries; he had the last two in stock. One he took of the wall and the other was wrapped up and boxed. You beauty I am on a winner. You think!!!!!
So husband, unpacked, and painted said lights ( which took two weeks ). He put them up on Saturday, all is going well except that we discover, that, one of the glass covers doesn’t fit
No problem say I, swap them around till you find one it does fit. What do you think happened, sucked; in it doesn’t fit any
So I rang this poor man, vented how upset I was, that I had family coming in two weeks and wanted the lights completed, does he have stock; of course not.
the first one intact
so pretty at night
the one on the stairs on the left is missing the glass, (looking from the front door in)

When might I have a replacement, “When the next shipment is due was his reply.” By the way this could take and probably will take months.
I acknowledged that it wasn’t his fault but really could WA get it together and one:
- Check the stock is correct when it arrives
- Could they actually carry stock so we don’t have to wait for it
- How about keeping us informed of progress of said lights
It’s called quality control people
Get with the program
I must be the customer from hell!!!!
There I feel better now
How about you?
