Listmania 2 My Current Seasons Loves and Hates.
Thanks to Home life Simplified
Okay so here we go I am to list 5 things I hate about the current season and 5 things I love about the current season.
Usually hovers around the 35 to 40 for several weeks extending into months, over the summer period here in Perth.
My job involves getting in and out of the car visiting various trainees throughout the day. So as you can guess, most car bays under cover are gone, I don’t usually now even look for an undercover spot as I am damn sure I won’t get one. After the visit, when I climb back in my car, the air con goes on full, you take the screen protector down, fold it up, set it aside then repeat about 4 to 5 times a day. Hmmmm.
|You get the idea?|
No escaping them, rid has become my perfume of choice. Generally you stand away from everyone if your polite, spray yourself on your exposed areas, then the trick is to spray in front of your self and walk through it quickly so as to catch the beautiful perfume on your clothes, and any other bits you may have missed. Does the job.
Since the councils appear to have abonded the Dung beetle program, the beetles which used to hatch just before summer and eat up all the grotty stuff from the paddocks and streets, hence leaving the flies with nothing to eat. (giving you less flies)
You have to pick your time when to go walking as I don’t want to give the fly’s a free ride as they like to cling to your back and float around your face just to annoy you.

Sunscreen with Zinc:
So thick and sticky, a must especially for the neck and chest area, unfortunately when you have wrinkles the Zinc tends to highlight them as the Zinc sticks in the creases making you look like you have a striped polo necked top on.
|Love the Invisible Zinc, clearly for smooth non wrinkling skin only.|
All I can say here is thank goodness for Foxtel. Not that I watch much local TV, but in saying that Parenthood starts tonight. Yipeeeeeee!!!!
Now for the things I love about our Summer:
This is a winner, as I don’t have to mess up my kitchen too much. Michael does the cooking, and I get to sit and enjoy the whole process.

We love salads here, we are also famous for putting to much fruit in with our salads so much so that on the odd occasion guests are unsure if it is in fact a green salad or a fruit salad. Guilty as charged.
Sitting out side on balmy evenings with friends:
With our warm nights it is very easy to enjoy the nights chatting, playing games and just plain old entertaining friends.

Summer desserts that I can make:
Not being a domestic goddess, despite my kitchen, I came across a no cook dessert which I find myself to be quite successful with. So now I make it at a drop of a hat. I am sure my friends will let me know when they are sick of it.

All throughout summer, there is so much happening. Christmas holidays, meeting up with friends, firework shows, Outdoor movies, Sculpture by the sea in Cottesloe, my birthday, all of the above is what summer is all about along with keeping cool.
