We all know I love shiny things, apparently I also love glass, this I discovered because of the amount of glass I have. It wasn’t intentional, it just happened that way.
Such as my Kitchen lights, which by the way are a pain to clean!
|I have three of these.|
Just before christmas, when the girls told me of their plans to move on, I saw an opportunity to off load some of my wine glasses, that I have had for some time and aren’t quite the full set anymore. I don’t really need an excuse to buy new ones, but if I did buy new glasses, then I would have no where to put them as the cupboard was full. So it seemed like a good idea at the time to share.
I am one of those people who talk with their hands, especially when having a drink or two, and inevitably glasses go flying. I usually buy two sets of the one style so they will last a bit longer before I have to buy more. I have looked at the stemless glasses but they just don’t do it for me. Probably because that would be the smart thing to do.
I can’t think of anything better than drinking out of a fine, long stemmed glass, beats a jam jar any day. I gave away a purple set and a green set, or at least what was left of them. Thought they would be handy for the girls when they set up their homes, could be used outside, it wouldn’t matter if they got broken or extra’s if caught short.
Thinking of glasses and sales! Now I also did my very best to keep away from the Christmas sales, as I always get sucked in, and end up buying something I shouldn’t, temptation was just too much which started me on my latest hoard. It was just plain ridiculous the bargains out there, I know they buy these glasses especially for the sale, I know this because I haven’t seen them in the stores before.
These beauties were half price, they are Royal Doulton Crystal, otherwise I swear I wouldn’t have bought them. Who pays full price any more, not us, as Myers and DJ’s have conditioned the consumer to wait for their sales. First there’s the pre Xmas sale, then there’s the back to school sale, then there’s the Easter Sale and so on.
