My friend Ann from Help I’m Stuck has nominated me to participate in the
Five in Five
Yes that was a few weeks ago but time and life has got in the way
Thanks to Mystery Case for the idea and prompts, I only realised very recently that Mystery Case is a Perth blogger, who knew?
1. How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
I started blogging two years ago to improve my writing skills, to create a journal for my children. I realised over time that memories are precious, that I know only a small amount of my dad’s journey and would have loved to know more. But alas his work and our lives were set on a different path; regretfully I didn’t get to spend the time with him that we would all have wished for. My children may one day feel the same. I may meet an untimely death, end up with Alzheimer’s, be run over by a bus, (wearing clean underwear) or any number of things can happen to any one of us. So really you couldn’t accuse me of not being prepared, I am very organised, proactive and alas for some am an open book. Oh and pretty as they say anal.
2. If your wardrobe could talk what would it say about you and tell us about you’re favourite or most work item?
My wardrobe is packed, as I am a shopaholic and struggle to do reverse shopping even when I know I shouldn’t have bought that. I have a couple of items that I haven’t worn and probably won’t. But I procrastinated too long and there it sits a rather stunning expensive black dress that my daughter insisted I buy. I haven’t had the courage as it is a bit figure hugging and I can’t be bothered holding my stomach in for that long. My favourite item is a blowy white shift dress, which is comfortable and hides all manner of sins.
3. What’s your idea of a perfect date night?
Sitting up in bed with my book a bottle of red wine and something sweet to eat, then falling asleep before the snoring monster fall in to bed beside me.
4. What’s on your worth casing list?
That’s a hard one for me, and frustrating at the same time. I like to decorate but the lack of choice here in wait a while (WA) is frustrating beyond belief. Having watched a fraction of The Block Glass House and seeing where they can shop just gives me the raspberries. I have been to Melbourne a couple of times and to Sydney’s Pottery Barn, have ordered online but it is just not the same experience that I yearn for. One frustrated home decorator here!
5. If you had a theme song what would it be and why?
Don’t hate me but I am not a music fan, in fact I listen to talk back often or RTFM (local music) I am a fan of jazz, soul, and what’s happening at the moment. I would even buy classical if I knew what I was buying. I hear it and go ‘Oh I want that’. Then it disappears from my head as I only listen to music when I’m driving and I can’t for the life of me drive and write at the same time.
I love love love that ukulele song ‘Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World’. Mind you I don’t know that you can beat Louis Armstrong’s version
