Our footpaths been sign posted, what do you think warranted or not?
We regular walkers awoke to this abomination. Bright white paint on our paths, why?
I live near a river, our path is littered daily with walkers, bike riders and dogs of all ages, genders, locals and blow ins. We smile and wave us regulars as we pass each other by. Today I stared down at the path and am shocked at the bright white paint far as the eye can see.
I spotted a regular walker storming towards me in the opposite direction she is furious. ‘Good morning,’ I say as she fast approaches. She looks at me exasperated, and says. ‘Look what they have done.’ I reply, ‘Is that why you are walking down the centre.’
‘Yes, I’m going to wear the paint down if it’s the last thing I do.’ ‘Fair enough I say,’ laughing. she’s a good sort. Puzzled though as to why we need to be guided as to what side of the path we are to stay on. Safety I assume, someone will need to tell the dogs to, also are we to give way to bike riders. I am not clear on who is to give way to whom, I’m waiting for the council to post a sign.
Now a few weeks later the brightness of the paint has diminished as mud, sand, dog shit, berries, nuts, leaves and bark has dirtied the brightness. Blessed we are to have the river and the path for all to enjoy you can but hope that we respect everyones space.
We have shelter from the river trees where we walk, well the ones that locals haven’t poisoned so as not to spoil their view.
I listened to Louis Armstrong’s ‘What a Wonderful World’ this morning. He’s so right. Have a wonderful day.
